From April 28 to May 2, 2025, the partners of the Blue Ocean Erasmus+ project gathered in Tahiti for a Transnational Project Meeting hosted by Lycée du Diadème. Set against the vibrant marine backdrop of French Polynesia, the week-long event brought together institutions from Malta, Italy, France, and Greece, united by a common mission: to promote blue careers and foster a sustainable, ocean-conscious generation.

Monday launched with a welcome from the French Polynesian Ministry of Education and the Vice-Rectorate, followed by powerful sessions on ocean education, participatory science, and inclusive teaching practices. Key contributors included Gozo College, Isa Conti Institute, IVI srl, Geniko Lykeio Siteias, and guest experts.

Tuesday turned its focus to bridging school-to-career and school-to-university transitions, with highlights from the CMM Marine Center and the Rāhui Center. The afternoon included a cultural dive into the heritage preserved at the Te Fare Iamanaha Museum.

Wednesday took participants to Moorea, where they explored the CRIOBE labs and heard firsthand from PhD students conducting cutting-edge research in marine conservation. A visit to the Te Fare Natura EcoMuseum offered a deepened understanding of lagoon ecosystems, capped by a beach picnic and snorkeling opportunity.

After a national holiday break on Thursday, Friday was dedicated to project workflow: reviewing the progress of each work package, updating the MOOC and training handbook, and planning future international conferences and dissemination strategies. The partners reaffirmed their commitment to advancing education on ocean literacy and sustainability.

The TPM in Tahiti was not only a moment for strategy and evaluation, but also a celebration of cultural exchange and scientific inspiration. From the ceremonial welcome to the coral reefs of Vaivao Beach, participants experienced the urgent beauty of what they aim to protect.
