BlueOcean is an ambitious Erasmus+ project uniting schools and experts across Europe and the Pacific to foster a “Blue Education Area” – integrating ocean literacy, sustainability, and career guidance into education. One of its key initiatives, Work Package 2 (WP2) – “Train the Teachers in Motivation for Blue Careers” – is empowering teachers to inspire the next generation of marine scientists, ocean engineers, conservationists, and other blue economy professionals.
Why Focus on Teachers for Blue Careers?
Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping students’ aspirations. WP2 addresses the lack of training in ocean preservation and blue economy careers by equipping educators with strategies and resources.
WP2 Objectives and Activities at a Glance
– Up-skilling Teachers in Ocean Literacy & Blue Economy.
– Developing Motivation and Guidance Skills.
– Creating a Comprehensive “Train-the-Trainer” Program.
– Piloting and Refining through Real-world Testing.
Achievements and Outcomes of WP2
